What is it?
An OPG (Orthopantomogram) is a panoramic dental X-ray of your teeth, jaw and temporomandibular joints.
What to tell us?
- If you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.
How to prepare?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows time for the completion of paperwork.
Please wear comfortable clothing and remove all earrings and tongue piercings prior to your examination.
Please bring any previous relevant imaging with you, as our Radiologist may require previous imaging for comparison.
How long does it take?
An OPG takes 10 – 15 minutes to perform.
We bulk bill all OPG scans, provided you hold a current Medicare card.
We will forward the result of your procedure electronically to your doctor. The results will be available after 24 hours. Urgent reports are available after 4 hours.
