What is it?
An X-ray is a painless test that produces images of the structures inside your body. They are widely used for diagnostic imaging.
What to tell us?
- If you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.
- If you have had a recent barium swallow procedure.
How to prepare?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows time for the completion of paperwork.
Please wear comfortable clothing and remove all jewellery from the area to be X-rayed prior to your examination.
Please bring any previous relevant imaging with you, as our Radiologist may require previous imaging for comparison.
How long does it take?
Most Xrays take between 15 and 30 minutes.
We bulk bill all X-rays, providing you have a current medicare card.
We will forward the result of your procedure electronically to your doctor. The results will be available after 24 hours. Urgent reports are available after 4 hours.
